Do I own a leased website?
The web lease follows a lease-to-own model. The setup fee and a portion of each monthly payment (“credit”) go towards the purchase price of the page. During this period CaracolSol is the owner of the website. However, you may pay off the outstanding balance on the purchase price for your website and thereby assume ownership.
What happens after I own the website?
After you own the website, you can choose to retain the managed services at a reduced monthly rate or we can transfer the website to a hosting provider of your choosing.
Monthly reduced rate is as follows:
- Essential – $50/mo includes hosting + maintenance
- Performance – $60/mo includes hosting + maintenance
- Dynamic – $70/mo includes hosting + maintenance
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes! When a lease is cancelled we retain the website for 90 days. After this period the website will be removed from our servers and accumulated credits will expire.
What if I want to renew a cancelled lease?
We can only renew a lease within a 90-day period. There is a $100 fee for reactivation and deployment of the website. If the renewal happens within the 90 day period, your website will be restored and credits retained.
Can I upgrade my turnkey website?
Yes we can upgrade the website to a turnkey offering and adjust the monthly payments and purchase price accordingly.
If the website has been purchased, we can upgrade your current site at an adjusted rate.
Why do you charge an upfront cost?
An upfront cost helps cover expenses for the design of your website so that it better fits your branding as well as technical implementation. This upfront cost is credited towards the value of the website, making it easier to own through monthly payments.
Can I lease a custom website?
Our web-lease program is designed for pre-built, turnkey packages to keep costs and timelines predictable. These packages are personalized to your brand and built to perform. For custom builds, explore our custom web design services.
