About STVUOC
The Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Volodymyr, located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, has served as the main cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA in New York since 1956. The parish functions as both a spiritual and cultural center for the Ukrainian community.
The Challenge
The cathedral’s old website was text-heavy and lacked a clear visual identity, which made it hard for users to navigate and engage with the content. To address this, leadership sought to transform their digital presence into a dynamic channel for communication, cultural preservation, and practical member support. At the heart of this project were the church’s fundraising efforts and support for Ukrainian refugees displaced by the full-scale Russian invasion.
The Solution
Working closely with cathedral leadership, we developed a comprehensive bilingual website to serve both their spiritual community and humanitarian mission. Our solution included:
- Bilingual content (English/Ukrainian) for inclusive communication
- Dedicated sections for service schedules, parish bulletins, and announcements
- Integrated donation platform optimized for fundraising campaigns
- Newsletter signup and social media integration for community connection
- Clear navigation with intuitive call-to-action buttons throughout
The redesigned website has significantly enhanced accessibility for the Ukrainian community, streamlined communication, and strengthened the cathedral’s fundraising efforts.
